| I am new at the Tennessee searching, there is one person you can contact, she is apart
of the "TN Adoption Coalition" and has done extensive work with the Legislator. They
just passed a law last year that pre 51 I believe could have the records opened and now
starting July 1st , you may make a request for your sealed file and post adoption file.
Before you get them, you will have to sign an affidavit saying you won't use the
information until the state has had time to contact the birth parent/s and ask if they
want to sign a contact veto. I won't go into the contact veto here but there is a criminal
and civil penalty written into the law if you break it.
